Bajaj Dominar gets massive Rs 37,000 price-cut by going the 350 cc way

Bajaj Auto India has launched the new 2026 Dominar 400 with a 350cc engine. The new downsized 349cc engine allows it to fall into the lower 18 per cent tax bracket, compared to the earlier 40 per cent bracket it attracted. While the name might suggest otherwise, this update signals a shift in the brand’s approach, aiming to make the motorcycle more accessible while retaining its touring-focused character. Priced at Rs 2.04 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated model marks a significant reduction of Rs 37,000.

The revised model is also lighter by 3kg, with a kerb weight of 190kg

Talking about the engine first, the newly developed 349 cc, single-cylinder engine. It’s liquid-cooled and puts out 40.6hp at 9,000rpm and 33.2Nm at 7,500rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The update results in a 0.6hp increase in peak power and a 1.8Nm reduction in peak torque. Peak power is now produced 200rpm higher, while peak torque arrives 1,000rpm later in the rev range. The previous Dominar 400 was powered by a 373cc engine delivering 40hp at 8,800rpm and 35Nm at 6,500rpm. The revised model is also lighter by 3kg, with a kerb weight of 190kg. Beyond the engine update, no other changes have been made to the motorcycle. It continues to be available in green and black, while retaining the same equipment list and touring-oriented accessories as before.
