The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the admit card for the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2026 on its official website. The candidates who have successfully registered for the ESE 2026 are able to download their admit cards using their registration ID/roll number and date of birth.The preliminary exam is scheduled for 8th February 2026. Carrying the admit card and a valid photo ID is mandatory to enter the exam hall. The exam will be held in offline mode across various centres in India. Candidates must download and verify all details in the admit card before the exam to avoid any last-minute issues.

How to download UPSC ESE admit card 2026

Candidates appearing for the UPSC ESE examination can download their hall tickets by following the steps given below:

  1. Visit upsc.gov.in.
  2. Click Admit Cards on the homepage.
  3. Select E-Admit Cards for various Examinations of UPSC.
  4. Enter Registration ID/Roll Number, Date of Birth, and Captcha.
  5. Click Submit.
  6. Download your admit card.
  7. Take a printout on white paper.
  8. Check name, roll number, exam centre, and reporting time.

UPSC ESE exam schedule

The preliminary exams for ESE 2026 are scheduled on the 8th of February. Paper I (General Studies and Engineering Aptitude) will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, and Paper II (Engineering Discipline) will be from 2 pm to 5 pm. Candidates are advised to be at the exam centre one hour before.Offline pen, paper mode will be the method of the exam, and a black ballpoint pen only should be used to mark the answers.

Exam day instructions

Candidates are required to carry a printout of the admit card and a photo ID that must be valid such as Aadhaar, PAN, or Passport. Items of electronic nature like mobiles, smartwatches, calculators, or earphones are strictly prohibited. Incorrectly entering the roll number or booklet code may result in the answer sheet getting rejected. It is strongly recommended that candidates thoroughly go through all the instructions provided on the admit card before the exam.
