Nicolas Cage talks about working on ‘Longlegs’ 2

It was confirmed last month that Cage and director Osgood Perkins are collaborating for the second ‘Longlegs’ film and that the two are extremely excited about the project. While attending the premiere for his upcoming project, ‘Spider Noir’, Cage opened up about how he is looking forward to returning to the scene.Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, he shared that “I guess you could say I have the pride of ownership of that character.” He further added that it was a character that he felt attached to because of the personal approach that he had taken to portray the serial killer. He said, “That character is personal to me because I was influenced by my mom — not that my mom was crazy like that, she wasn’t satanic, but I don’t want someone else playing my mom, so if they’re gonna do it, you’re doing it with me.”He then quipped that another reason the project is happening can also be credited to his and Perkins good friendship. When further asked about what the second film will entail, Cage shared that he is still in the dark about that matter, just like everyone else. “I don’t know what the story is, and I have not met the new Paramount,” he commented. Not many details have been revealed about the upcoming film; however, as per the report, the estimated release date for ‘Longlegs’ has been set to January 14, 2028. It will also not be a sequel to the first film, and instead will be set in the same universe where ‘Longlegs’ takes place.
