KAKINADA: Four people including three women were killed when a tipper rammed into them in Kakinada rural mandal in the early hours of Saturday. Two others have sustained serious injuries. The deceased have been identified as employment guarantee scheme workers. Vasamsetty Satytavati(60), Palika Krishnaveni(35), Chittemma(45) and Chelluri Annavaram (45) were killed in the accident. Mattaparthi Aruna Kumari and Palika Nagamani have sustained severe injuries. The injured people have been admitted to the Government General Hospital, Kakinada. The accident took place when the employment guarantee scheme workers were crossing the road. The negligence of the tipper driver is suspected to be the reason for the accident. AP ministers Nara Lokesh and Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy have expressed shock over the accident. They have directed the authorities to provide quality treatment to the injured persons.
