RRC SECR Bilaspur begins application process for 1,191 apprentice vacancies in 19 trades

RRC SECR Bilaspur Apprentice Recruitment 2026: South East Central Railway, Bilaspur Division has released the notification for engagement of Act Apprentices for the 2026-27 session under the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1962. A total of 1,191 vacancies have been announced across 19 designated trades in the Bilaspur Division. The online application process began on May 12, 2026 and will continue till June 11, 2026 at 11:59 pm through the official apprenticeship portal.The recruitment drive includes vacancies in trades such as COPA, Fitter, Electrician, Wireman, Painter, Welder, Carpenter, Plumber and Stenography. Candidates selected under the recruitment process will undergo one year of apprenticeship training and receive stipend as per the rules prescribed by the Government of Chhattisgarh.Trade-wise vacancies announcedAmong all trades, COPA has the highest number of vacancies with 350 posts, followed by Fitter with 223 posts and Electrician with 206 posts. Wireman accounts for 125 vacancies, while Painter has 41 posts and Mech (RAC) has 40 vacancies. Carpenter has 38 vacancies and Steno (English) has 36 posts.Other notified trades include Plumber with 30 vacancies, Steno (Hindi) with 25, Welder with 20 and Track Machine/BSP with 17 vacancies. Draftsman (Civil) has 12 vacancies, Diesel Mechanic has eight posts, while Elect (Mech), Machinist, SMW, Turner and Chemical Laboratory Assistant each have four vacancies.The category-wise breakup includes 476 posts for UR candidates, 115 for EWS, 317 for OBC, 180 for SC and 86 for ST candidates. In addition, 115 vacancies are reserved for Ex.SM candidates and 45 for PWD candidates.Eligibility and selection processCandidates applying for the apprentice posts must have passed Class 10 with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks along with ITI qualification in the relevant trade. The age limit prescribed for applicants is 15 to 24 years as on June 11, 2026. Age relaxation will be applicable as per rules.The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in Matriculation and ITI examinations, with equal weightage given to both qualifications. The notification states that candidates must correctly fill in their Class 10 and ITI marks while completing the application form, failing which the application may be rejected automatically.No application fee has been prescribed for the recruitment process.
