RPSC employee, lecturer arrested in lecturer recruitment case | Jaipur News

Jaipur/Ajmer: Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) has arrested two persons, one a Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) employee, and the second the main accused in a case involving alleged tampering of official records to conceal the use of a dummy candidate in the Lecturer (History) Recruitment Examination-2022.Police have identified the main accused as Rajesh Kumar Meena and the RPSC employee as Man Singh Meena, a UDC posted at RPSC Ajmer.ADG (SOG) Vishal Bansal said the investigation revealed that Rajesh Kumar Meena allegedly arranged for another person to appear in the examination on his behalf.Officials said Rajesh, who was weak in studies, persuaded his acquaintance Ummed Singh to act as a dummy candidate in the examination conducted in Oct 2022.Investigators said Rajesh edited his admit card using computer software and replaced his photograph with that of Ummed Singh before handing it over to him.Ummed Singh allegedly appeared in both the General Knowledge and History papers as the dummy candidate and forged Rajesh’s signatures on attendance sheets after pasting his own photograph.Officials said Rajesh Kumar Meena later cleared the examination and secured appointment as a Lecturer (History). After the selection, Rajesh attempted to get the original attendance sheets preserved in RPSC records altered by replacing the dummy candidate’s photograph with his own.During the process, he allegedly came in contact with RPSC UDC Man Singh Meena through an RPSC landline number.SOG investigators claimed Man Singh demanded Rs 8 lakh to manipulate the official records, of which Rs 2 lakh was allegedly paid in advance.Based on a complaint, SOG registered FIR No in the matter.Police said dummy candidate Ummed Singh and another associate, Ramesh Bishnoi alias Dhaka, had already been arrested earlier in the case.Rajesh Kumar Meena, who had been absconding since registration of the FIR, has now been arrested and remanded in custody till May 18.Officials said Man Singh Meena was arrested for allegedly conspiring to tamper with original RPSC records in exchange for money.Further investigation is under way to identify other possible accused linked to the conspiracy.
