CUET UG 2026: NTA releases important notice on dress code and exam day guidelines for candidates

CUET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory regarding the dress code and permitted items for candidates appearing in the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026 examination.According to the official notice, the CUET UG 2026 examination will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from May 11 to May 31, 2026, across centres in India and 15 cities outside the country.The agency has advised candidates to carefully follow the examination day instructions to ensure smooth entry and frisking procedures at the exam centres.

CUET UG 2026: Items and dress code allowed at exam centres

As per the advisory issued by NTA, candidates will be allowed to carry transparent water bottles inside the examination centres.The agency has also clarified that candidates may wear articles or objects of faith, including religious threads such as kalava. However, such candidates are advised to report to the examination centre well in advance to complete frisking procedures smoothly.NTA has further stated that light-coloured clothing is preferred for the examination. Candidates may wear woollens if required, but they should arrive early at the centre for proper checking.Regarding footwear, normal shoes, slippers, and low heels have been recommended for candidates appearing in the examination.
