Avika Gor says she felt uncomfortable for the first time during 'Ugly Story' shoot; 'That character made me feel disgusted'

Popular actress Avika Gor, who became a household name with a popular TV serial and won Telugu audiences with films like ‘Uyyala Jampala’ and ‘Cinema Choopistha Mava,’ is now gearing up for her new Telugu film ‘Ugly Story.‘ During the trailer launch event held on Wednesday, the actress made shocking comments about her experience while shooting for the movie. Avika revealed that she felt uncomfortable for the first time in her acting career because of the intense nature of the character and scenes in the film. Her honest statement has now gone viral on social media and created more curiosity around the movie.

Avika Gor reveals she hated the character during shooting

Speaking at the event, Avika Gor praised co-star Nandu for his powerful performance in Ugly Story. As reported by Filmibeat, she said, “Nandu gave his best performance in this film. He acted so well that audiences will actually hate the character.” Avika also admitted that she personally started disliking the character while acting in those scenes. “I felt uncomfortable on set for the first time in my career. That character made me feel disgusted. I wanted to come out of those scenes quickly, but that is the strength of the role,” she said. Her emotional comments clearly showed how deeply the film’s story affected her during the shoot.

‘Ugly Story’ will show reality along with entertainment

Avika Gor further explained that ‘Ugly Story’ is not just a regular commercial entertainer. According to her, the film also carries a strong social message and reflects real-life situations faced by many people. “Many films are made only for entertainment. Some films give a message. Our movie has both. This film will act like a mirror to society,” she said. Avika Gor added that some viewers may not feel comfortable watching such stories, but films like these are important because they show reality. She also said she strongly trusted the story and the director from the beginning, which is why she agreed to be part of the project.

Avika also showered praise on the director, saying his clarity and vision made her performance easier. “It never felt like he was directing his first film. I completely trusted his vision,” she shared. The actress ended by saying that this movie would remain one of the proudest projects in her career. “Even after five or six years, I will proudly look back at this film,” she added.Directed by Pranav Swaroop, ‘Ugly Story’ is a romantic psychological thriller featuring Nandu, Avika Gor, and Ravi Teja Mahadasyam in lead roles. The film is set to release on May 22.
