Riteish Deshmukh‘s ambitious project ‘Raja Shivaji’, the film based on Maratha warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, opened to mixed reactions from the critics as well as the audience. Despite early reviews, the film raked in good numbers at the box office. The film that was simultaneously shot in Marathi and Hindi, was off to a record start at the box office. While the Marathi version minted a record-breaking number, the Hindi dubbed film also showcased decent numbers.

The film ran across 6291 shows in total, including Hindi, Marathi, and Telugu versions. The film collected Rs 11.35 crore net in total (Hindi and Marathi) in India.
