TN RTE admissions 2026: The Tamil Nadu government has opened the application process for admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, Section 12 (1)(c). It enables children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups to apply for entry into private schools for the 2026-27 academic year. The online application window opened on April 20, 2026, at 11 AM close on May 18, 2026. Applications are being accepted through the official state education portal for admissions in entry-level classes—LKG and Class 1.Under the RTE framework, 25% of seats in private unaided schools are reserved for eligible children belonging to weaker and disadvantaged sections of society. The admissions are strictly limited to entry-level classes, making LKG and Class 1 the primary intake points.Parents and guardians can either start a fresh application or resume a saved one within the application window. Once the deadline passes on May 18, no further submissions will be accepted.

  • Click on Start Application or Resume Application
  • Enter complete details of the child and parent/guardian

  • Carefully verify all details before submission
  • Submit the application online before May 18, 2026
  • Save/print the application acknowledgement for future reference
