Noida techie death: NBW against Lotus founder Nirmal Singh, cops say raids on to arrest him

NOIDA: A non-bailable warrant has been issued against absconding Lotus Greens founder Nirmal Singh in connection with the death of engineer Yuvraj Mehta, who drowned after his car plunged into a waterlogged trench in Sector 150 on Jan 17.Singh has been on the run since the case surfaced and that multiple raids are underway to trace and arrest him. Police warned that if he failed to surrender or evaded arrest, proceedings to attach his property would be initiated.

Singh is facing charges in an FIR filed under the Environment Protection Act, 1986, Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and BNS sections 290 (negligence in building construction or demolition), 270 (public nuisance) and 125 (negligence endangering human life). The FIR also names owner of the commercial plot and director of real estate company MZ Wiztown Abhay Kumar and three other stakeholders in the plot, including Sanjay Kumar, Manish Kumar and Achal Bohra of Lotus Greens.So far, Wiztown director Abhay Kumar, and two directors of Lotus Greens, Ravi Bansal and Sachin Karnwal, have been arrested in a case registered under BNS sections 105 (culpable homicide), 106-1 (causing death by negligence) and 125 (rashness or negligence endangering human life). Kumar was arrested on Jan 20, while Bansal and Karanwal on Jan 22. After their arrests, police sealed the Noida offices of the two builders.
