'Every missed ID check puts a young life in danger': Isha Koppikar slams underage drinking in Mumbai, says minors given alcohol "freely"
Isha Koppikar has slammed underage drinking in Mumbai, claiming minors get alcohol “freely” in pubs with “no questions asked, no accountability.” Calling for stricter ID checks, she warns, “Every missed ID check puts a young life in danger,” and urges parents, authorities, and venues to prioritise safety over profit and protect children.

Isha Koppikar has highlighted the issue of underage drinking in pubs and bars, claiming that minors receive alcohol without any ID verification or scrutiny, “no questions asked, no accountability.” She demanded tougher ID enforcement rules, stating, “Every overlooked ID check endangers a young life.”

Isha Koppikar calls out “no questions asked, no accountability” culture

On her official Instagram, Koppikar uploaded a video slamming pubs, clubs, and officials for lax oversight, declaring, “This is not fun, this is pure negligence.” She described a recent case where a young girl got so drunk she lost control, and a friend had to manage the fallout. “Imagine if there was no responsible person present, what could have happened?” she questioned, pointing to the serious hazards at play.

Isha Koppikar pleads to protect children

Drawing from her experience as mom to a 12-year-old girl, Koppikar expressed how personally these concerns strike her, urging the system to “Please strictly follow the rules and protect our children.” She went further, imploring authorities and venues to put safety ahead of earnings with ironclad rule adherence. “I would like to tell them that before profit, please look at the responsibility. Responsibility comes first. Whether a pub or restaurant belongs to an influential or powerful person should not make a difference. The law cannot bend based on status. There should be no disparity, the rules are the same for everyone,” she added.

Isha Koppikar urges parents and collective responsibility

The actor further pushed for everyone to share the load of responsibility, calling on parents to keep a close watch and stay active in their children’s worlds. She noted, “in today’s time, our children need guidance, boundaries and a safe environment the most. This is not a blame game. It is about awareness, prevention, and care. A small negligence can change someone’s life. Don’t wait for a tragedy—wake up now,” she ended.
