Raghav Juyal: From Hill Roads to Mumbai Traffic – A Driver’s Journey |

Motor Matters with Raghav Juyal! Says driving on hill roads has made him a hands-on driver

Raghav Juyal, who hails from Uttarakhand, often finds himself missing the long drives back home. Now based in Mumbai, the actor makes it a point to return to his hometown whenever he can, especially to hit the roads with his friends. Life in Mumbai, he admits, comes with its own challenges. “I am a mountain driver,” says Raghav, as he elaborates on driving in Mumbai, saying, “The experience of driving in Mumbai is very different. This city is so crowded. It has taught me patience. I enjoy driving in Mumbai on Sundays. I drive down to SoBo, have kebabs and comeback. I don’t drive much in Mumbai. I just sit backseat and get busy on my phone.”However, things are very different when he’s back in Uttarakhand. The Ba***ds of Bollywood actor enjoys taking the wheel and driving alongside his friends. While the roads today are wider and safer, he recalls a time when driving there was far more dangerous. He says, “I learnt to drive on Willys jeep. It has no hand break. Tab roads bhi bade alag thay… thodi si galti, aur tum gaye seedhe niche. So, all those experiences have made me a hands-on driver.”Beyond cars, Raghav also has a passion for biking and has explored several scenic destinations. “I hit the road on my bike in places like Nepal, Bhutan and parts of Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim.”Talking about the places he likes to drive around in Mumbai, he says, “In Mumbai, I drive on Atal Setu, Lokhandwala backroads, also town… it gives me vintage vibes. Whenever my friends from Dehradun come to Mumbai, I take them on Mumbai darshan. They get amused seeing auto rickshaws, woh kehte hai kaise yeh makkhiyon ki tara bhinbhinate rehte hai.”
