Yash on gangster film ‘Toxic’: 'It'll be a visual treat and make a huge impact on the audience's psyche'

Actor Yash, who is in the US, promoting his film ‘Ramayana‘, dropped fresh insights into his upcoming film ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’. The actor, who will be seen playing the antagonist, Ravana in the Nitesh Tiwari epic, spilled the beans about his next ambitious and unconventional gangster movie that is slated to hit theatre screens this June.

Yash on ‘Toxic’

In a candid chat with Fandango, Yash was asked to share tidbits about his upcoming action film. “Toxic is a very ambitious film,” he began and went on to explain, “For the first time, I think, we have shot that film in English as well. So, as a concept, it is very layered.” He went on to add, “It isn’t your typical gangster action story. For the face value, it will look like a gangster movie with a lot of action, but it has got deep psychology and its got very interesting aspects of human life, where you can resonate with and it’s a very unique way to present a dark character.”

Yash promises ‘Toxic’ will be a visual treat

Yash also credited his director Geetu Mohandas and the technical team for bringing a fresh perspective to the genre. He shared, “It was very exciting and some of the best technicians, my director Geetu Mohandas, has really given a new take to a gangster film and I enjoyed it.”Teasing what lies ahead for fans, he shared, “It’s going to be a visual treat as well as something which makes a huge impact on the audience’s psychology.”

‘Toxic’ release date

‘Toxic’ was initially slated to clash with Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ on March 19, however, the makers postponed the relase date. Amid much buzz about the film geting a new release, actress Tara Sutaria confirmed that the film is scheduled for theatrical release on June 4, 2026.

Yash confirms ‘no scene’ with Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Ramayana’

The update comes as Yash attended the CinemaCon event in the US, where he has been promoting the epic ‘Ramayana’. The actor also shared with the portal that Part One of the saga will not see him sharing screen space with co-star Ranbir Kapoor. He shared, “Interestingly we both have never come together on screen in this film. As you all know, it’s a two-part film, so in the first part, as Ravana, I have my own kingdom and Rama has his own kingdom.“‘Ramayana’ is slated for a worldwide release on Diwali 2026.
