Zubeen Garg’s case: Assam court to hear bail pleas of five accused
In a significant development today, five suspects arrested in the case surrounding Zubeen Garg’s unfortunate passing are appealing for bail, as the Kamrup district court prepares to evaluate their request. This plea comes in the wake of a comprehensive charge sheet issued by the Special Investigation Team, which outlines the suspects’ purported roles in the incident.

Five people had been arrested in relation to Zubeen Garg’s demise. As per the latest reports, all five of the accused had earlier filed for bail, for which the hearing will be held today. The District and Sessions Judge’s Court of Assam’s Kamrup district will set up today to hear the bail case for all of the people that have been arrested so far.

Bail hearing for the accused in Zubeen Garg case to be held on today

According to IANS reports, the bail hearing for all of the five people involved in the musician’s case will be held today. Including Shyamkanu Mahanta and Amritprabha Mahanta, they had all approached the bench for bail and had cited that they have been fully cooperating with the investigation so far.The late singer’s manager, Siddhartha Sharma, had been charged with murder during the investigation into Zubeen Garg’s demise. The singer’s cousin and suspended Assam Police officer Sandipan Garg had been charged with culpable homicide. The bail hearing news comes only days after the SIT (Special Investigation Team) officially submitted its charge sheet about the case. The charge sheet contains details of all of the five accused people and their involvement in the case. Not only that, but it also has ‘witness statements, forensic findings, electronic records and international correspondence.’ All five of them have denied all allegations so far.

Singapore High Court’s verdict

The Singapore High Court also recently served its verdict on Zubeen Garg’s demise. They cited that as per the initial investigation, there had been no foul play involved in the Guwahati national’s passing. They cited in their report that the actor passed away due to drowning, as he was severely drunk while on a yacht.Witness accounts were also shared in the report, citing that many people had seen him having multiple drinks, which included whiskey and gin, while on the yacht. The captain of the yacht had also shared that Garg had to be supported by two of his friends while climbing on. He himself had conducted two safety briefings before heading out into the water.The singer had gone into the water for a swim, had come back and shared that he was tired, and had later gone into the water again without a life support jacket, as per witness testimonies.
