‘Aadu 3’, starring Jayasurya, is maintaining a steady pace at the box office as it enters its second week. The film, which marks the return of the beloved Shaji Pappan and his gang is showing consistency despite the usual weekday drops.According to Sacnilk website reports, the comedy film has collected Rs 36.55 crore in India net so far. The total India gross stands at Rs 42.26 crore.
Day-wise collections show gradual drop
The film witnessed a predictable decline after the weekend. On Day 6 (first Tuesday), the film earned Rs 2.59 crore. It then collected Rs 2.03 crore on Day 7 (first Wednesday). The first week concluded with a total of Rs 35.03 crore net as per the reports.Moving into the second week, Day 8 (second Thursday) brought in Rs 1.52 crore. This pushed the overall India net collection to Rs 36.55 crore.
Shaji Pappan returns with a fantasy twist
Directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, ‘Aadu 3’ takes the franchise in a new direction. The story follows Shaji Pappan, played by Jayasurya, and his gang as they get caught in a chaotic plot. The narrative is about a mystical “Star Dust” stone that controls power and also connects different timelines.The film shifts between present-day 2026 and a historical setting in the 1750s. In the past timeline, the characters appear as their historical counterparts. Shaji Pappan is seen as Padmanabha Thamburan, a local king. Overall the concept is different from the other two parts in the franchise.
Prathichaya opens on a low note
Meanwhile, ‘Prathichaya’, starring Nivin Pauly, has opened to a modest response at the box office.According to Sacnilk, Prathichaya collected Rs 65 lakhs net on its opening day. The India gross stands at Rs 75 lakhs. The worldwide gross also remains at Rs 75 lakhs. The political thriller hit theatres recently but has not posed a strong challenge to Aadu 3 so far.For now, ‘Aadu 3’ clearly holds the advantage.
