In Chennai, strict vehicle checks are being conducted as part of routine monitoring throughout the city. During one such check in Ashok Nagar, officials stopped a minivan for inspection. However, the scene changed in minutes. The guns were later discovered to be props for a film shoot, according to Cinema Express. Upon further inspection, officials revealed that the artefacts belonged to the film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. These were being carried away after a shoot and were actually on their way back to Vadapalani shop. In due course, possession-related documents and permissions were shown to the authorities, and the team was allowed to leave.

Viral buzz around the AK-47 seizure incident in Chennai

The news about “AK-47 rifles seized in Chennai” spread quickly and briefly created panic. But when the truth emerged, the situation turned into a light-hearted moment. Many people on social media started sharing memes and jokes, saying even officials were surprised by a “cinema-style twist.” Some users joked that real guns were not found, only “reel guns”.
