There are lots of discussions and debates, write-ups, books, conferences, and whatnot on AI these days, and one topic that is left out among the benefits of AI is happiness.

Artificial Intelligence for happiness

This article explores how AI can promote happiness. There are many ways AI can help with happiness, and some of the most important are listed below.

First, today, with AI tools, it is possible to do more in less time. It is possible to save a lot of energy by engaging AI tools and to save a lot of attention by using them properly.

So, with AI tools used in a proper way, one can get better control and save the most precious resources for happiness, that is, time, energy, and attention. These free resources can be used in various ways for a happier life such as spending and investing them for good physical and mental health and building stronger and deeper relationships.

Second, it is also possible to use AI to save money, and saved money is earned money. Not only for saving money, but AI can also be used to make money in different ways. And if money is a major goal for people, AI can help them achieve it in a big way. By achieving
financial goals and using money wisely, one can add happiness to one’s life.

Third, with the help of AI, one can learn many things and improve oneself, and learning and improving oneself is a big source of a feeling of achievement, which helps release the happiness hormone dopamine and increase happiness.

Fourth, today, there are some basic tools available in AI which one can use to monitor one’s daily activities, habits, and routine to figure out where one wastes time, energy, and attention, and where one loses these precious resources.

Fifth, today, there are also a lot of tools and techniques available at a very low cost or almost free, even to know more about various ways to happiness, various tricks to happiness, and various ways to hack happiness, and one can learn about happiness and make happiness a part of daily life using AI tools.

Sixth, AI tools are a powerful medium to enjoy what one loves in life. For example, if someone wants to go for holidays, if someone wants to go for a party, or if someone wants to go and attend a hobby class, using AI tools it is possible to identify, to structure, to prepare,
and to create plans and details, including costing and timing and everything, and one can execute the plans for enjoying life in a much easier, cheaper, and better way.

Seventh, AI tools can also be used to help others in various ways. Using AI tools, one can consult and help anyone, almost anyone, starting from domestic help to a neighbourhood businessman or in societal problems, and helping others is an essential part of happiness.

Eighth, AI can also be used to analyse oneself more systematically. One’s wants, health, and knowing oneself in detail through analysis of one’s wants help, and then taking time out to reflect upon it, one can understand oneself in a better way, which can help in finding a
meaning of life or purpose of life, which is an important part of happiness.

There are many more ways in which AI can be used to add happiness to one’s life. However, one needs to be cautious that one is using AI actively and with purpose, and not wasting time,
energy, and attention through inactive or passive use.

Conclusion and takeaways

AI is a powerful tool that can greatly enhance one’s happiness. To add happiness to one’s life through AI, one needs to be an active, focused, and purposeful user rather than a passive, dormant user wasting time, energy, and attention on it uselessly.

The points above show in detail how AI can be a big help for happiness, but here let us highlight only two main points. One is that AI helps in saving time, energy, and attention, which are key resources for happiness. Also, points six, seven, and eight are nothing but giving, enjoying, and living a meaningful life, and the balance between these three things is a lasting definition of happiness.

On this International Day of Happiness, let’s pledge to use AI to add happiness to our lives.
