For lead actor Sidharth Malhotra, however, the connection began the moment he turned the final page of the script a decade ago. Marking 10 years since the film’s release today, Sidharth revealed that reading the script left him in tears. In an interview with Hindustan Times, he shared, “When I first read the script, I remember finishing it with tears in my eyes. It felt so real, like stepping into a warm, chaotic Punjabi family where every character had a heartbeat. Playing Arjun was special because he was layered, vulnerable, and carrying so much inside him. 10 years later, people still talk about the film, the scenes, and the family dynamics, like they’ve lived with these characters themselves. That kind of love is rare, and I feel grateful we got to bring that story to life.”
‘Kapoor & Sons’ story summary
In ‘Kapoor & Sons’, two brothers from a turbulent home reunite in Coonoor after their grandfather’s heart attack to be with their parents and him. Their bond fractured when Arjun (Sidharth Malhotra) accused Rahul (Fawad Khan) of plagiarizing his tale for a blockbuster book. This film brought Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra together onscreen for the second time, post their 2012 starter ‘Student of the Year’.

Apart from movies, the actor is loving this new part of his personal life. Sidharth and his wife Kiara Advani just had their first baby, a girl named Saraayah.
