Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah recently celebrated his fifth wedding anniversary with sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, but it was Sanjana’s hilarious response to Bumrah’s Instagram post that quickly went viral on social media.The couple, who tied the knot on March 15, 2021, marked the special occasion by sharing heartfelt posts on Instagram. Bumrah posted a picture with his wife and kept the caption simple, writing just “Happy anniversary.” However, Sanjana could not resist teasing him for the brief message.Reacting to the two-word caption, she jokingly commented, “Kidney touching caption yaar,” a humorous twist on the popular phrase “heart touching.”

While Bumrah opted for a minimal caption, Sanjana shared a more emotional message alongside a series of photos with the Indian fast bowler. The anniversary celebrations came just days after Bumrah played a crucial role in India’s triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India defeated New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs in the final, securing their third T20 World Cup title. Bumrah delivered one of the most memorable performances of the tournament, producing a stunning spell of 4 wickets for 15 runs in the final.His brilliant bowling dismantled New Zealand’s batting lineup and earned him the Player of the Match award in the final. Across the tournament, Bumrah finished among the top wicket-takers with 14 wickets, highlighting his importance to India’s bowling attack.

The love story of Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan

The relationship between Bumrah and Sanjana has been one of the most admired partnerships in Indian cricket. The two first crossed paths during the 2013-14 IPL season, when Sanjana interviewed Bumrah as part of her role as a sports presenter. Over time they developed a friendship which eventually blossomed into a relationship.After dating privately for nearly two years, Bumrah decided to take the next step and proposed to Sanjana during the IPL 2020 season, which was held in the UAE due to the pandemic.
