With electric scooters becoming a go-to choice for daily commutes and sales gradually picking up, there are several popular models available in the market presently offering a decent mix of range and affordability. Now, in case you are looking to purchase an electric scooter, here are some popular models that you can consider for your daily commutes.

Popular family electric scooters for daily needs

One of the standout options in the segment is the Ather Rizta, which starts at around Rs 1.15 lakh, ex-showroom. It is available with two battery sizes: 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh, delivering claimed IDC ranges of 123 km and 159 km respectively. Charging to 80 % takes about 5 hours 45 mins on the 2.9 kWh version and around 4 hours 18 mins for the 3.7 kWh variant.Another well-known choice is the TVS iQube, priced from roughly Rs 95,000, ex-showroom. This scooter offers multiple battery options ranging from 2.2 kWh up to 5.3 kWh, which pushes its claimed IDC range between 94 km and 212 km depending on the version. The charging time for these variants typically falls between roughly 2 hours 45 mins and 4 hours 18 mins to reach 80 % charge.

Stepping up in range, River Indie commands a higher price tag of about Rs 1.46 lakh, ex-showroom. Its 4 kWh battery delivers a claimed IDC range of around 163 km. A standard charging setup can take roughly 5 hours to reach 80 % capacity. Besides that, it also offers decent practicality with a storage space of 55 litres. Then you also have the option of the Hero Vida series which is offered with different battery capacities of 2.2 kWh and 3.4 kWh, with claimed range capacities between 143 km to 165 km. The pricing for these models range from Rs 73,850, ex-showroom, to Rs 1.40 lakh, ex-showroom, for the top-end V2 Pro version.Next up, we have the Honda Activa e: that delivers a claimed range of 102 km and runs on a 3 kWh swappable battery setup made up of two 1.5 kWh units. Prices start at around Rs 1.18 lakh and go up to Rs 1.53 lakh, ex-showroom, with the top-spec RoadSync Duo variant offering added connected features, making it a convenient and refined choice for city commuting.
