TVS Orbiter e-scooter now costs just Rs 49,999! BaaS rental, range etc explained

TVS Motor Company has expanded its electric scooter lineup with the launch of the new TVS Orbiter V1. Alongside, the company has also introduced a Battery-As-A-Service (BaaS) ownership model. As part of this, the EV can be bought at a significantly lower upfront cost. With this new scheme, the Orbiter V1 can now be purchased from Rs 49,999, ex-showroom.Customers who prefer to purchase the scooter with the battery included can buy the Orbiter V1 for Rs 84,500, ex-showroom.

The BaaS model separates the cost of the battery from the price of the scooter. Instead of paying the full price upfront, customers can subscribe to the battery through flexible payment plans. Under this model, buyers can opt for monthly plans starting at Rs 862, while the battery remains covered under extended warranty support.

The Orbiter V1 becomes the most affordable electric scooter in TVS Motor’s portfolio. It is powered by a 1.8 kWh battery pack. According to the company, the scooter offers a certified IDC range of 86 km on a single charge. Charging the battery from 0 to 80 percent takes around 2 hours and 20 minutes.The launch also expands the Orbiter lineup. The range will now be offered in two variants: the Orbiter V1 with a 1.8 kWh battery and the Orbiter V2 with a larger 3.1 kWh battery. In addition, the Orbiter V1 features two ride modes: Eco and Power along with regenerative braking. Other rider assistance functions include Hill Hold Assist, Cruise Control and Parking Assist, which aim to improve everyday usability.
