Dubai Airports issues advisory: Do not travel without confirmed airline departure time as limited operations restart at DXB, DWC

Operations have partially resumed at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central, Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) on March 2 following a temporary partial closure of airspace, Dubai Airports said in its latest operational update. In its passenger advisory statement, it added that a limited number of flights have been permitted to operate from both airports. However, authorities cautioned that schedules remain subject to change and advised passengers not to proceed to the airport unless they have received a confirmed departure time directly from their airline.

“Travellers are advised not to proceed to DXB or DWC unless they have been contacted directly by their airline with a confirmed departure time, as schedules remain subject to change,” the spokesperson said. Passengers who have received confirmation from their airline have also been advised to check their departure terminal before travelling, as operational adjustments may affect terminal assignments. Dubai Airports urged travellers to rely only on official communication from their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight timings and status. Passengers are encouraged to check airline websites or mobile applications and await further instructions before heading to the airport. The temporary airspace measure had previously disrupted normal flight operations, leading to flight delays and cancellations on various routes. This marks the beginning of a phased return to normal flight operations, but it should be noted that full flight operations have yet to resume. Dubai Airports stated that it continues to closely monitor the situation in coordination with relevant authorities. The spokesperson further noted that the focus continues to be on maintaining the highest standards of operational safety, security, and passenger well-being in the midst of the current adjustments. Further updates will be shared as more information becomes available.
