NEW DELHI: Senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday hailed the court’s decision to acquit former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and senior leader Manish Sisodia in the excise policy case, describing the verdict as a “victory of truth” and a decisive rebuttal to what they called a politically motivated campaign against the party. The ruling triggered sharp political reactions, with AAP leaders asserting that the allegations had failed to stand judicial scrutiny.“Truth alone triumphs. Today, once again, I feel proud of Baba Saheb Ambedkar Ji’s visionary thinking and the Constitution he crafted. Despite all the attempts by Modi Ji’s entire party and all their agencies to prove us dishonest, today it has been proven that Arvind Kejriwal – Manish Sisodia are staunchly honest,” AAP senior leader Manish Sisodia, who spent a long time in jail in connection with the case, stated.AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh demanded PM Narendra Modi’s apology: “The court has acquitted our leaders. It has been proven that a dangerous conspirator is ruling over the country’s power. Who hatched a conspiracy to defame the country’s most popular honest Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the most capable honest Education Minister Manish Sisodia, and the finest honest party AAP. Our leaders were tortured in jail. Apologize to the country, Narendra Modi,” said Singh in a post on X.“Today, the court has acquitted Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia in the fake liquor scam, forever sealing the lock on BJP‘s lies. Heartfelt thanks to the crores of fellow countrymen who stood with us in this fight. We have fought with complete honesty for the country and will continue to do so….,” AAP said in a post on X.
