Tata Punch EV vs MG Windsor: Range, price, BaaS scheme comparison

India’s electric SUV market is expanding with new and updated models. Tata Motors recently updated the Tata Punch EV, while the MG Windsor EV has quickly become a popular option among buyers.These two models are not direct rivals, but both are among the more affordable electric SUVs on sale today. Here’s a simple comparison of their prices, battery options, range and BaaS schemes.

Tata Punch EV vs MG Windsor EV: Battery and range

The Punch EV facelift is offered with 30 kWh and 40 kWh battery packs. The smaller battery has an ARAI-claimed range of 365 km, while the larger pack is rated at 468 km. Tata Motors says that the real-world C75 range is about 260–275 km for the 30 kWh version and 335–355 km for the 40 kWh version.The Windsor EV comes with larger batteries. The 38 kWh version offers a claimed range of 332 km, while the 52.9 kWh battery delivers a claimed range of 449 km.

Tata Punch EV vs MG Windsor EV: Performance

The 30 kWh Punch EV produces 89 hp and 154 Nm of torque. The 40 kWh version produces 129 hp and 154 Nm. On the other hand, the Windsor EV uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque.

Tata Punch EV vs MG Windsor EV: Pricing and BaaS scheme

The Tata Punch EV facelift is priced from Rs 9.69 lakh, ex-showroom. It can also be had with the Battery-as-a-Service model, which reduces the upfront cost to Rs 6.49 lakh. Under this plan, battery usage is charged at Rs 2.6 per kilometre.The MG Windsor EV follows a similar subscription approach. Under its BaaS plan, prices start from Rs 9.99 lakh with battery rental charges of Rs 3.9 per kilometre. Buyers who prefer to purchase the battery outright can opt for the standard model, which starts from Rs 13.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
