Rohit Shetty is gearing up for the next chapter of his blockbuster comedy universe. The filmmaker is moving ahead with ‘Golmaal 5’, which is set to go on floors in early 2026. Recent reports sparked a major buzz online, suggesting the film will reinterpret the classic comedy ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’.
Clarification on reports linking ‘Golmaal 5’ to a classic film
Speculation around ‘Golmaal 5’ intensified after the Bollywood Hungama reports claimed the film would reinterpret ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’. The idea hinted at a modern spin within the ‘Golmaal’ world. However, the director’s team firmly denied the connection. In an official clarification, they stated, “We wish to issue a strict clarification regarding certain news reports currently circulating across online and digital media platforms claiming that Golmaal 5 is inspired by or based on the film `Do Aur Do Paanch’. We categorically state that these reports are factually incorrect, misleading and completely untrue. We strongly request all media houses, publications, portals, and digital platforms to refrain from publishing or circulating unverified information. Any news, update or clarification pertaining to Rohit Shetty or Golmaal 5 must be verified with us or the official PR representatives – Universal Communications, prior to publication or Strict Legal action will be taken. Cast plans and production timeline for ‘Golmaal 5’
‘Golmaal 5’ brings back familiar faces. Ajay Devgn leads the ensemble once again. Akshay Kumar is also expected to join, marking another major reunion. The film also marks the sixth collaboration between Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar after ‘Suhaag’, ‘Khakee’, ‘Insan’, ‘Sooryavanshi’, and ‘Singham Again’.The core cast includes Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Sharman Joshi and Tusshar Kapoor. Filming is scheduled to begin by late February at Film City, Mumbai. Makers are reportedly targeting an early 2027 theatrical release.

Security has become a key priority. After gunshots were fired outside Shetty’s Juhu residence, Mumbai Police increased protection. Authorities now plan similar measures on the film set. The production team is coordinating with local police and personal security to safeguard the cast and crew.
