Winter Olympics 2026 Snowboarding schedule for Milano Cortina 2026: Snowboard events date, medal matches and more

Snowboarding is expected to be one of the biggest highlights of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Fans around the world will once again tune in to watch speed, style, and big-air tricks on the Olympic stage. A total of 11 gold medals will be awarded across different snowboarding events. Competition begins on Thursday, February 5, with qualifying runs at Livigno Snow Park in Livigno, Italy.Team USA enters the Games with strong expectations. American snowboarders have been one of the most successful nations in the sport since it made its Olympic debut in 1998. The United States has already collected 35 Olympic snowboarding medals over the years. With a mix of proven stars and experienced veterans, the team hopes to add more medals in Italy.

Chloe Kim leads the U.S. snowboarding squad at Milano Cortina 2026. The 25-year-old is competing in her third Olympic Games. She is already a two-time Olympic gold medalist and is the favorite to win gold again in the women’s halfpipe. Kim is also one of only three American snowboarders on the roster who has previously won an Olympic medal.On the men’s side, Team USA features experienced Olympians such as Nick Baumgartner, Red Gerard, and Chase Josey. The American men are aiming for their first individual snowboarding gold since the 2018 Winter Olympics. That year, Shaun White won halfpipe gold and Gerard topped the slopestyle podium.Snowboarding competition starts on Thursday, February 5, with men’s big air qualifying runs in the afternoon. The first men’s medal will be decided on Saturday, February 7, in big air. Women will compete for their first medals on Sunday, February 8, in parallel giant slalom.The schedule then moves through several popular events. These include halfpipe, snowboard cross, slopestyle, and the mixed team snowboard cross. Women’s halfpipe finals are set for Thursday, February 12, while the men’s final takes place on Friday, February 13. Snowboard cross events follow soon after, adding speed and head-to-head racing to the program.Slopestyle closes out the snowboarding calendar. Women compete for gold on Tuesday, February 17, followed by the men’s slopestyle final on Wednesday, February 18. All events will be broadcast across NBC platforms and Peacock, though times and coverage may change.With star power, history, and a packed schedule, snowboarding promises to be one of the most exciting sports at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
