Punjab National Bank (PNB) has released the official notification for Apprentice Recruitment 2026. The bank will fill 5,138 apprentice posts under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The online registration process will begin on February 8, 2026 and will close on February 24, 2026. Graduates from any recognised university can apply. The apprenticeship will be for one year. Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly stipend during the training period. The selection process will include an online written examination, a local language test, document verification and a medical examination. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria, age limit and application fee before submitting the online form.

PNB recruitment vacancy details

PNB has announced a total of 5,138 apprentice vacancies for the financial year 2025–26. The notification was released on February 5, 2026. The online application window will remain open from February 8 to February 24, 2026. The online written examination is expected to be conducted in the first week of March 2026.Candidates must apply within the given timeline. Applications submitted after the last date will not be accepted. The apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year at various PNB branches across the country.

Eligibility criteria and age limit

Candidates must have a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institute. The age limit is 20 to 28 years as on January 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government rules.Applicants must also be proficient in the local language of the state or Union Territory for which they are applying. They should be able to read, write, speak and understand the local language.

Selection process, stipend and application fee

The selection process will consist of an online written examination followed by a local language test. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and medical examination.The online test will include sections on General and Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative and Reasoning Aptitude, and Computer Knowledge. The total marks will be 100.Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend. Candidates posted in rural, semi-urban and urban branches will receive Rs 12,300 per month, while those in metro branches will receive Rs 15,000 per month.The application fee varies by category. General, OBC and EWS male candidates will have to pay Rs 944. Female candidates from these categories will pay Rs 708. SC, ST and PwBD candidates will pay Rs 236.Candidates can apply online through the official PNB website within the specified dates.
