Yami Gautam to star in horror-comedy ‘Nayyi Navelli’, theatrical run before OTT premiere

On Instagram, the actress revealed her upcoming project with full specifics. The ideal bahu could very well be an evil force from an outer world!! Yami Gautam teams with Aanand L Rai for ‘Nayyi Navelli’

Earlier reports indicated the project is in pre-production and will be Yami Gautam’s first team-up with Aanand L Rai. As per Mid-Day, she headlines the horror-comedy ‘Nayi Naveli’, produced by Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions. Drawing from Indian folklore, the film is slated to begin shooting in February 2026.

The film’s press release states that Nayyi Navelli centers on a picture-perfect bride who restores harmony to a chaotic Meerut household, until her brother-in-law suspects all isn’t as ideal as it seems. It hints the apparent perfect bahu might be a sinister otherworldly force, leaving the family to wonder if they can survive her.‘Nayyi Navelli’ is produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma.
