‘With Love’ began its box office journey with a very good start. The film collected around Rs 1.50 crore India net on its first day across all languages. For a fresh pair and a new director, this is a solid opening and shows that people were ready to give the film a chance.
Tamil and Telugu occupancy shows interest
The movie had an overall Tamil occupancy of 20.87% on Friday as reported by the Sacnilk website. The morning shows saw 13.69% turnout, afternoon went up to 22.15%, evenings stood at 18.76%, and night shows jumped to 28.89%. The night shows were the strongest.The Telugu occupancy was 12.63% overall. Morning shows had 8.53%, afternoon shows went up to 12.93%, evening shows saw 9.53%, and night shows reached 19.54%.
A soft romantic story
The film stars Abishan Jeevinth and Anaswara Rajan in the lead roles. This is Madhan’s directorial debut and also Abishan’s debut as a lead actor. The story follows Sathya, who meets Monisha in a matchmaking setup. They like each other, but Monisha gives one special idea. Because of that idea, both of them go back into their school memories and think about old crushes. The story is light, soft, and simple. It talks about love, memories, and little feelings that never fully leave us.

ETimes review for the film says, “With Love doesn’t reinvent the genre. It follows a conventional pattern but finds the charm in its likeable lead performances, Sean Roldan’s vibrant music and a lovely supporting cast.” The review also adds, “Abishan, in his debut as a lead, does justice to the boy-next-door role. His unassuming presence helps soften the character of Sathya, who could have come across as off-putting if played by another actor.” The review praises Anaswara too, saying, “Anaswara is wonderful.
