In 2014, Nic and Elana competed together in a mixed-gender four-person bobsled team, making history in international competition.Their relationship began with a simple phone call. Nic contacted the U.S. Bobsled and Skeleton Federation after losing paperwork, and Elana answered while she was an intern. They talked for hours without meeting. Soon after, they met in person at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center and started dating the same day.
