At that time, Cheesur posted a strong message on X directed at the cartel leader. The post quickly went viral. Soon after, he disappeared from social media for a short time. A missing person flyer with his real name and details began circulating online. He later returned and said his identity had been stolen.That incident stayed in people’s minds. Then in February 2026, reports reminded the public that the United States government had placed a $15 million reward for information leading to El Mencho’s capture. Around the same time, Cheesur made online comments suggesting he would collect the reward. Some viewers thought he was joking.
