Isis Sio is fighting for her life right now. The 19-year-old boxer was knocked out badly during a match on Saturday, March 21, in San Bernardino, California. The fight ended in the very first round, but what happened after that shocked everyone watching. Isis Sio collapsed in the ring after taking several hits to the head from Jocelyn Camarillo. Medical staff rushed in immediately as she lay unconscious and started showing signs of convulsions. According to ESPN, the situation was serious from the start. She was quickly taken to Loma Linda University Health Medical Center, where doctors placed her in a medically induced coma. Right now, she is in the intensive care unit, and her condition remains critical.

Jocelyn Camarillo’s win turns serious as Isis Sio placed in coma and boxing community raises concerns

Jocelyn Camarillo, who is 21 years old, won the fight and improved her record to 6-0. But instead of celebration, the focus quickly shifted to Isis Sio’s health. After the match, Camarillo shared a message on Instagram. She wrote, “6-0 🗡️💛 All glory to god. came prepared, gave it my all. grateful for the moment but my heart is with isis and keeping her in my prayers and wishing her a full recovery.” She later added another post saying, “Please please please keep Isis in your prayers!! My heart is with her and her family.”ProBoxTV, the promotion behind the event, also shared an update on X. The statement said, “On behalf of CEO Garry Jonas and the entire ProBox family we are praying for a speedy recovery for Isis Sio. Ms. Sio is currently in a medically induced coma. Our thoughts are with her and her family at this very difficult time.”As more details came out, many people in the boxing world started asking questions. Isis Sio had fought just weeks earlier on January 30, where she lost to Perla Bazaldua by knockout. In boxing, fighters usually get a 60-day medical suspension after a knockout to recover. However, that loss was ruled as a body shot, which allowed her to return sooner under a 30-day suspension rule. Some experts now feel she may have come back too early. There was also backlash aimed at Most Valuable Promotions, the company linked with Jake Paul. The promotion had posted the knockout clip online with the caption, “MVP’s Jocelyn Camarillo won by 1st round KO🥶. KO of the year??” This post stayed online even after news of Isis Sio’s condition became public. Fans reacted strongly, with comments like, “Please remove this,” and “This post should be removed immediately.”Right now, the focus remains on Isis Sio’s recovery. Doctors are monitoring her closely, while fans, fighters, and the boxing community continue to hope for good news.
