The West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) has released the Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 notification. Online applications have started from February 26, 2026. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per government rules.Candidates must have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant subject. They must have qualified NET, SET or SLET. Candidates who hold a PhD degree as per norms of the University Grants Commission are exempted from NET requirement. All qualifications must be completed before the last date of application.

Application fee and selection process
The application fee is Rs 2,500 for general category candidates. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD categories need to pay Rs 1,250. The fee must be paid online. The fee once paid will not be refunded.The selection process will be based on academic record, research work, teaching experience and interview performance. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in different stages. Selected candidates will be appointed as Assistant Professors in state-aided colleges of West Bengal.
