‘Used like toilet paper’: How Pak minister’s gaffe left Munir in a spot

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has once again put Islamabad in an awkward position with anti-US remarks, even as the country’s “hybrid government” seeks closer diplomatic and economic ties with the Trump administration.
Addressing the National Assembly during a debate on terrorism following the February 6 suicide bombing at a Shia mosque in Islamabad, Asif said Pakistan had been “treated worse than toilet paper and then discarded” by the US after serving its strategic interests in Afghanistan.
