UPTET registration window to open on March 27: Check steps to apply here

UPTET application 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) will start the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 application form from March 27, 2026. The notification has been released on the official website. The registrations will end on April 26, 2026. Aspirants need to register themselves one time. A correction window will remain open until May 1, 2026. The examination is scheduled to be held on July 2,3, and 4, 2026. UPTET continues to operate as a mandatory qualification for teaching roles in government and aided schools across Uttar Pradesh. However, eligibility criteria reveal a calibrated attempt to maintain academic thresholds while aligning with national teacher education norms.

UPTET exam 2026: Eligibility criteria

For Primary Level (Classes 1 to 5), candidates must have:

  • Senior Secondary qualification with at least 50% marks
  • A 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or equivalent

For Upper Primary Level (Classes 6 to 8), the bar shifts:

  • A Graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks
  • Along with either a D.El.Ed or a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree

  • Move to the OTR portal and register with basic details
  • Create login credentials and complete One-Time Registration
  • Upload photograph, signature, and required documents
  • Generate and note your OTR ID
  • Log in and fill the UPTET 2026 application form
  • Select the relevant paper (Primary/Upper Primary)
  • Enter educational and personal details accurately
  • Pay the application fee online
  • Review, submit the form, and download the confirmation copy
