UPSSSC recruitment 2026: Notification released for 929 ASO, ARO posts; registration begins on this date

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the official notification for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Statistical Officer (ASO) and Assistant Research Officer (ARO). As per the notice, a total of 929 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive.Candidates who are interested and eligible can apply online through the official website once the registration process begins.

Important dates

According to the official notification, the application process will start on April 21, 2026. The last date to submit the online application form and pay the fee is May 11, 2026.Candidates will be allowed to make corrections in their application form till May 18, 2026.

Total vacancies

The recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 929 posts of Assistant Statistical Officer and Assistant Research Officer across various departments in Uttar Pradesh.These vacancies are distributed across different categories and departments as mentioned in the official notification.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must have appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 conducted by UPSSSC. Only those candidates who have a valid PET score will be considered for shortlisting.For educational qualification, candidates should have a postgraduate degree in subjects such as Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce, Economics or related fields from a recognised university.Additionally, candidates must have basic computer knowledge and knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script.Age limitCandidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as per the rules mentioned in the notification. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates as per government norms.

Application fee

The application fee is Rs 25 for all categories. The fee can be paid through online modes such as debit card, credit card, internet banking or UPI.

Selection process

The selection of candidates will be based on a written examination. Only those candidates who are shortlisted based on their PET 2025 score will be eligible to appear for the main examination.The written exam will consist of objective type questions and will carry a total of 100 marks.
