The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) was scheduled to release the UPSC CAPF Notification 2026 on February 18, 2026. However, the notification has now been postponed. The Commission has informed that the revised date will be notified in due course on its official website. The examination is conducted to recruit Assistant Commandants in Central Armed Police Forces including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). Candidates preparing for the examination are advised to track official updates closely. The written examination is usually conducted in July, but fresh dates will be confirmed only after the notification is issued.

UPSC CAPF notification postponed, new date awaited

The notification for the UPSC CAPF 2026 exam was earlier scheduled for release on February 18, 2026, according to the official examination calendar. The release of the notification has been postponed. The new date for the release of the notification will be announced later, as stated by UPSC.The detailed advertisement, including the details of the vacancy, eligibility criteria, pattern of the exam, and application schedule, will be released once the notification is out. Aspirants are advised to not depend on any unverified source and wait for the confirmation from UPSC.

Eligibility and selection process

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. The age limit is generally 20 to 25 years, with relaxation for reserved categories as per government norms.The recruitment procedure has three levels: written test, Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test, and Interview or Personality Test. The written test has two papers. Paper I is on General Ability and Intelligence. Paper II is on General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension. Both papers are held on the same day in two sittings.

  2. Click on the “Examinations” tab.
  3. Select “Active Examinations”.
  4. Click on “CAPF (Assistant Commandant) Examination 2026”.
  5. Download and save the notification PDF for reference.
