Additionally, this celebration ushers in a new Samvatsara, a sixty-year cycle in which each year is given a distinct name. The Sanskrit terms “yuga,” which means age, and “adi,” which means beginning, are the origin of the term Yugadi. According to the Luni-Solar calendar, this celebration marks the start of a new year. People visit different temples and worship to God on this fortunate day. They prepare various dishes and desserts and share them with friends, family, and relatives as part of their celebration.

1. People take a bath after waking up early in the morning.2. It is important to apply oil before taking a bath.3. They dress in fresh, clean clothes and decorate their home with rangoli made from rice flour and mango leaves.4. They prepare foods like – pachadi, which is prepared with neem leaves, jaggery, and tamarind.5. After that, they go to temples to offer bhog prasad to the Lord and the Goddess.6. They distribute the bhog prasad among family members.7. They joyfully celebrate this auspicious day and give each other gifts.
