‘Diff’rent Strokes’ fame Todd Bridges has filed for divorce from his wife, Bettijo B. Hirschi. The filing comes three months after the actor and his soon-to-be ex-wife announced their separation in January 2026.The couple married in September 2022, nine months after meeting on a dating app.
Todd Bridges calls the marriage irretrievably broken
According to People, Todd, 60, officially filed a Petition for Dissolution of Marriage Without Minor Children in a Maricopa County, Arizona court on Tuesday, March 31. He cited that the marriage was “irretrievably broken” as the reason for divorce.Bridges and Hirschi, who is a photographer and designer, indicated that they do not have any community property or debts, and neither is requesting spousal support. All other terms have been settled in a mutual agreement reached outside of court, per the report.The couple separated in January 2026. At that time, Todd told the abovementioned publication, “After much prayer and reflection, my spouse and I have made the difficult decision to separate. This was not an easy choice, and it comes with a heavy heart, but also with love and gratitude for the life we shared.”

As per aforementioned publication, Todd Bridges and his soon-to-be ex-wife met through a dating app. The former couple met in January 2022 when a friend of Hirschi’s made her a profile on a dating app and showed it to Bridges for “market research,” she revealed during a December 2024 appearance on the Tamron Hall Show. While Hirschi had previously sworn off the apps, she agreed to go on the date. Bridges proposed six months later, and the pair tied the knot that same year in September 2022.

This marks Bridges’ second divorce. He was previously married to Dori Smith from 1998 to 2012, with whom he shares son Spencir, 28, and daughter Bo, 29. Hirschi also has four kids from a previous relationship.
