Patna: A road accident late on Thursday night in Saharsa’s Bangaon police station area claimed three lives and left two others injured.The incident occurred when a speeding tractor collided with two motorcycles. The deceased were identified as Vijay Yadav (45), Saurabh Kumar (18), residents of Chainpur village under Bangaon police station area and an unidentified person. The injured were identified as Shivam Kumar and Anand Mishra, both 18 years old, and residents of nagar panchayat ward no. 17 under Bangaon police station area. They are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.Saurabh was student at Simri Bakhtiyarpur ITI College, while Vijay worked as a mason.Following the deaths, local people and family members protested at the sadar hospital, alleging delayed treatment.Sadar SHO Saurabh Kumar said, “The speeding tractor hit two separate bikes near Sarari Tola West. One bike had three riders while the other had one. A passerby was also killed in the accident. His identity is being ascertained.”“The protest turned violent, with family members clashing with hospital staff and injuring a guard. Emergency services were disrupted for nearly two hours. Following intervention of police, the protesters were calmed down. The bodies were handed over to the family after the postmortem. The tractor driver is being searched for legal action,” the SHO added.
