Dense fog blanketed parts of the UAE early Tuesday, disrupting the morning commute and prompting weather and transport authorities to issue urgent warnings as visibility dropped sharply across several regions.

The National Centre of Meteorology issued red and yellow alerts on Tuesday, February 10, warning that horizontal visibility had fallen significantly and could reduce further until 9am. The advisory covered several coastal and internal areas, where conditions were expected to fluctuate during the early hours. The fog coincided with peak travel time, raising safety concerns on major roads. Authorities cautioned that visibility could deteriorate suddenly, increasing the risk of accidents if drivers failed to adjust speed and following distance.

Digital signboards across the city displayed reminders as traffic volumes increased during the morning rush.In Abu Dhabi, residents received warning alerts directly on their mobile phones. The notifications informed drivers that speed limits had been reduced on several roads due to the thick fog, reinforcing the need for extra caution while driving.
