Actor Vijay has been one of the most popular stars in Tamil cinema for many years. The leading South Indian actor Vijay has a huge following, thanks to his movies, but now he has taken a different route. Accordingly, during this transition, he announced to contest in upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. As per election guidelines, every contestant must file an affidavit detailing their assets, properties, and other possessions. Vijay mentioned these details during his nomination, which has become the talk of the day among his fans and others.
Vijay filed a nomination and declared his assets
In filing his nomination, Vijay submitted the prescribed details of his assets and liabilities. According to Cinema Vikatan, the affidavit revealed that the actor has movable assets worth around Rs 404.58 crore. His wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, has movable assets worth approximately Rs 15.51 crore. The documents also reveal that Vijay maintains significant bank balances. He reportedly has about Rs 213.36 crore in a savings account at an Indian Overseas Bank branch in Saligramam. Apart from that, he also holds a fixed deposit of around Rs 5.79 crore in Axis Bank’s Indira Nagar branch.
Luxury cars and valuable jewellery owned by Vijay
The affidavit goes on to detail the opulent life Vijay leads. Vijay has several luxury cars in his stable, like the BMW 530, the Toyota Vellfire, and others. The total value of these cars is around Rs 6 crore. Besides cars, Vijay also declared gold ornaments weighing around 883 grams, valued at Rs 1.20 crore. His wife, Sangeetha, has a much bigger portfolio of gold ornaments, including about 391 sovereigns of gold jewelry valued at Rs 4.07 crore. The family also owns diamonds valued at about Rs 1 crore. These possessions underscore the considerable wealth held by the actor and his family.
Vijay’s investments and bank balance
Besides his personal properties and bank accounts, Vijay has also invested substantial sums in companies, trusts, and business entities. It is mentioned in the affidavit that he has globally invested more than Rs. 56 crore in companies and individuals. These investments are made in educational and social institutions and companies. These investments reflect that Vijay is involved in different businesses and social matters apart from films.
Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ struggles to find its release
Meanwhile, on the film front, Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie ‘Jana Nayagan.’ H Vinoth’s directorial has faced a delay due to pending censorship.
