Her friend shared the heartbreaking news, recalling her unwavering positivity despite the hardships she faced.

The actress was an Oscar-nominated artist and, over the years, had built a very successful career in the entertainment industry.The news of her passing was reported by her good friend Stacey Souther, who shared a lengthy post online announcing that Valerie Perrine had passed away. The date of her passing was not made public.

Valerie Perrine passes away at 81

Taking to her social media, Souther posted that Perrine had left for her heavenly abode. She mentioned that the veteran actress had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and had been fighting it head-on. She shared, “She was a true inspiration who lived life to the fullest—and what a magnificent life it was. The world feels less beautiful without her in it. I love you, Valerie. I’ll see you on the other side.”In the post, she also added a donation link as well, made for the star’s funeral arrangements and other needs. She wrote asking people to spread the word as Perrine’s finances had been drained due to her Parkinson’s disease treatment. She wrote, “Please consider donating, sharing, and helping spread the word for her funeral GoFundMe. Her final wish is to be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery, but after more than 15 years of fighting Parkinson’s, her finances are exhausted. Let’s come together to make her last wish a reality—she truly deserves it.”

Valerie Perrine was a famed star in the Hollywood industry, and worked in a lot of films and other projects during the span of her career. She was born in Galveston, Texas, on September 3, 1943. From a young age, she traveled across the country. Due to her father’s posting in the military, she was always moving, though she had some form of background in the arts due to her mother, who was a dancer. After her education, Perrine shifted to Las Vegas for some work and later to Los Angeles to pursue acting as a career. Her debut in ‘Slaughterhouse-Five’ came after an agency found her and cast her for one of the minor roles in the film that helped her rise to fame. She had more than 60 acting credits to her name. Some of her most famous works include, but are not limited to, ‘ Grounded for Life’, ‘Family Law’, ‘Burke’s Law’, ‘Ghostwriter’, ‘Ziegfeld: The Man and His Women’, and ‘Love Story.’
