NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat called the Hindus in Bangladesh to unite against the adverse atmoshpere that has developed in the aftermath of the Sheikh Hasina‘s outser followed by surging anti-India sentiments.Highlighting the presence of 1.5 crore Hindus in Bangladesh, Mohan Bhagwat said that putting up an united front can help Hindus in utilising the political system for thier own benefit.“… The incident that happened in Bangladesh… there are still 1.25 crore Hindus in Bangladesh. If they unite, they can utilise the political system there for their own benefit, for their own security, but they have to unite. Fortunately, this time they decided that they wouldn’t run away; they would stay there and fight. Now, if they’re going to fight, then unity will be essential. The sooner they unite, the better,” the RSS chief was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. Bhagwat assured that the RSS, within its limitation, would do everything it can for the Hindus in Bangladesh.“With the number of Hindus currently in Bangladesh, they can significantly improve their situation. In achieving this, we, within our limitations here, and Hindus around the world in their respective places, will do everything we can for them; I can give you that guarantee,” he further said on Sunday while speaking at the two-day lecture series on ‘100 Years Of Sangh Journey – New Horizons’ in Mumbai.Bhagwat also spoke about the deepening concerns over the illegal infiltration in the country, which has continued unabated over the decades, saying: “We should inform the police that we suspect these people are foreigners, and they should investigate and keep an eye on them, and we will also keep an eye on them. We will not give employment to any foreigner.”Backing the government’s initiative to deport illegal immigrants, Bhagwat said: ” This wasn’t happening until now, but it has started little by little, and it will gradually increase. When the census or the SIR is conducted, many people come to light who are not citizens of this country; they are automatically excluded from the process.” “If someone is from our country, we will give them employment, but not to foreigners. You should be a little more vigilant and aware,” he added.
