Director Luv Ranjan has shared a big update that has caught everyone’s attention. March 2026 is locked

While talking to Pinkvilla Luv Ranjan clearly mentioned the timeline. He said that filming for the Sourav Ganguly biopic is planned for March. He did not reveal any more details about the cast or the story. But this simple confirmation itself feels like a big step forward. Luv Ranjan shared about his upcoming projects, “We have just finished an action film with Ajay Devgn sir which is going to release later this year. We have already announced it. We will be starting Sourav Ganguly’s biopic in March. So that is something on the slate that we are working on.”

Luv Ranjan and genre shift

Luv Ranjan is mostly known for making quirky romantic comedies. Over the years his films have created a strong image for him. But he believes that his journey into rom-coms was never planned. In the same interview he spoke honestly about how his style came to be.He said, “When I started in this industry it was not like I decided that I was going to be a filmmaker who would have a signature with quirky rom-coms.” He explained that sometimes life takes its own path. A filmmaker may not always choose a direction. The direction slowly takes shape on its own as work continues.

Journey shaped with time

Luv Ranjan further shared that people today talk about his signature style. They link his name with comedy and romance. But he said it was not a decision he made early in his career. He added that the journey shaped itself. He did not sit down and decide that romantic comedies would be his fixed path. According to him sometimes you set out to do something and your journey takes form. This thought influences his current choices. He is now stepping into different genres and stories. The Sourav Ganguly biopic is a big example of that shift.

Ensemble cast adds strength

The upcoming project also features a strong supporting cast. Actor Kumud Mishra plays a pivotal role in the film. He is known for his powerful performances and adds weight to any story he is part of. Along with him newer talents like Amitt K. Singh, Akshay Dogra, Yugika Bihani, and Shilpa Shukla are also part of the ensemble.
