Skoda Slavia facelift spied testing: New design, changes explained

Skoda India has just launched the new Skoda Kushaq facelift, priced from Rs 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom). And now, the company is preparing to launch the Skoda Slavia facelift soon. The sedan made its debut back in 2021 and is now lined up for its first mid-cycle update. Ahead of its debut, it has been spotted testing again on Indian roads, though heavy camouflage keeps most design details under wraps, with only the rear section visible so far.

The sedan has been spotted with dynamic turn signals

The sedan has been spotted with dynamic turn signals, indicating a key feature update ahead of its launch. The current model uses halogen indicators at both ends; the facelifted model will be replaced by LED units. The updated combination lamps with dynamic turn indicators will be placed in the lower outer section, with a sweeping inside-to-out animation similar to those seen on higher-end sedans. While the overall silhouette is expected to stay largely unchanged, the Slavia facelift is likely to receive extensively revised front and rear styling.

Up front, it is expected to feature a redesigned fascia with sharper headlamps, a revised grille incorporating a connected light strip, similar to the Kushaq facelift and a new bumper design. Along the sides, the sedan could get newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, updates are likely to include a reworked boot lid, slimmer tail-lamp housing, and other subtle styling enhancements.Moving inside, changes are expected to be minimal, limited largely to updated upholstery. On the features front, it is likely to gain a fully digital instrument cluster, a redesigned steering wheel, ventilated front seats and a host of additional upgrades. Mechanically, it is expected to continue unchanged, retaining the same set of engine options. Just like the Taigun, Volkswagen is expected to introduce a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, replacing the earlier 6-speed unit. Another engine is a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol.Image: cinewheelz/instagram
