To make sure the gemstone works well for you, it is an idea to get rid of that old energy first. Here are three simple things you can do at home to prepare your gemstone.
Ganga JalAs per Hindu beliefs, a simple ritual to revive the energy of gemstones is by soaking them overnight in Ganga jal and chanting gemstone- or dosha-related mantras before wearing them again.
The Saltwater BathThe way to clean a gemstone is with a simple soak. Salt is good at pulling out energy. Fill a glass bowl with clean water and add a little bit of sea salt. Let your gemstone sit in the water for a few hours or overnight. If you live near the ocean, using seawater is even better.Quick Note: Just be careful with gemstones like opal or turquoise because salt and water can sometimes hurt them. For gemstones like diamonds, sapphires or rubies, this is perfectly safe.A night under the moonlightThe earth has its way of making things new again. Once your gemstone is clean place it on a windowsill where it can see the moon. The best time to do this is when there is a Full Moon. The moons light is thought to make the gemstone strong again. Leave it there all night. Pick it up in the morning. Many people say the gemstone feels different after a moon bath.Setting IntentionThis is the important part and it is all about you and your gemstone. Before you wear the gemstone for the first time, hold it in your right hand. Close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths. Think about why you bought the gemstone. Are you looking for peace with your gemstone? Do you want health with your gemstone? Do you want to be more focused at work with your gemstone? Say that goal aloud or say it clearly in your mind.
