SECL apprentice recruitment 2026: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has released a recruitment notification for apprentice positions. The company, categorised as a Miniratna enterprise, is inviting applications for a total of 1700 posts under its apprenticeship programme.The recruitment drive includes opportunities for graduate apprentices, technician apprentices and fresher apprentices. The process will be conducted online, and no application fee has been prescribed for candidates applying under any category.Distribution of Vacancies across Apprentice CategoriesAs per the official notification with advertisement numbers SECL/BSP/HRD/NATS/Apprentice 26-27/1393 and SECL/BSP/HRD/NATS/Apprentice 26-27/1394, the overall number of vacancies is 1700. Out of these, 500 posts are earmarked for graduate apprentices, while 1100 posts are earmarked as technician apprentices.Additionally, 100 posts are earmarked as fresher apprentice posts, which comprise office assistant, general duty assistant, assistant mine surveyor, security guard, etc.Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications RequiredFor the graduate apprentice posts, the candidates applying should have their degrees in the fields of mining, BBA, BCA, B.com, B.Sc, etc. On the other hand, the candidates applying for the posts of technician apprentices should have their diplomas in the fields of engineering, including mining, mine surveying, civil, electrical, mechanical, etc.For the fresher apprentices, the candidates applying should have passed class 10th or class 11th. The minimum age of the candidates applying should be 18 years, as of March 31, 2026.Application Process and Key DatesThe entire application process is being done online, and the interested candidates are required to submit the forms before the deadline date. The deadline date for the submission of the online applications is set as March 31, 2026.After the completion of the application process, the provisional selection list is to be announced in the month of April 2026. The selected candidates will be posted at various units located across the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.Job Locations and Structure of the Selection ProcessThe selected candidates will be posted at various operational locations across the operational areas of SECL located in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, which are known for the high volume of coal mining activities.
