RBI Assistant recruitment 2026: Registration for 650 posts ends tomorrow; direct link to apply here

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will close the registration process for RBI Assistant Recruitment 2026 tomorrow, March 8, 2026. Candidates who wish to apply for the recruitment must complete their application before the deadline on the official website, www.rbi.org.in.This recruitment drive aims to fill 650 Assistant posts in various RBI offices across India. The selection will be done through a nationwide competitive examination.The online application process started on February 16, 2026, and candidates can submit their forms only through the official RBI website. Applications sent through any other mode will not be accepted.

  1. Application submission window: February 16, 2026 to March 8, 2026
  2. Payment of examination fee (online): February 16, 2026 to March 8, 2026
  3. Online Preliminary Examination (tentative): April 11, 2026
  4. Online Main Examination (tentative): June 7, 2026

Vacancies announced

A total of 650 Assistant posts have been announced across several RBI offices in the country. These include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur & Lucknow, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates applying for the post must meet the following conditions.NationalityApplicants must be one of the following:

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962
  • A person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India and holds an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India

Age limit (as on February 1, 2026)

  • Minimum age: 20 years
  • Maximum age: 28 years

Candidates must have been born between February 2, 1998 and February 1, 2006 (both dates inclusive).Educational qualificationCandidates must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50 per cent marks from a recognised university.
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories only need a pass class.
  • Knowledge of word processing on computer.
  • Proficiency in the local language of the state or region applied for, including reading, writing, speaking, and understanding.
  • For Ex-servicemen, a graduation degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification is required after at least 15 years of defence service.

Selection process

The recruitment process will take place in three stages:

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main Examination
  • Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

The Language Proficiency Test will be conducted in the official or local language of the concerned state. Candidates who are not proficient in that language will be disqualified.

  1. Visit the official RBI website at www.rbi.org.in.
  2. Click on the link “Recruitment for the Post of Assistant – Panel Year 2025.”
  3. Register as a new user to generate a provisional registration number and password.
  4. Fill in personal, educational, and other required details carefully.
  5. Upload the photograph, signature, and required documents as per the specifications.
  6. Pay the application fee online.
  7. Click on “Complete Registration” and submit the application form.
  8. Download and print the submitted form for future reference.
